Shipping Policy

General Shipping:

Alteriors currently ships within the National Capital Region only. If you are inquiring about a purchase for outside of this area please contact us to make purchase and delivery arrangements.

Remote Delivery Area Surcharge (Ontario/Quebec)

We will make every effort to fulfill your order based on our General Shipping policy; however, an additional surcharge is often required for delivery to more remote locations outside of major city areas. This is due to a delivery surcharge applied by some shipping companies. Alteriors will contact you prior to applying this shipping surcharge to your credit card.

Shipping is to ‘curb-side’ only, meaning delivered outside your residence, you must bring the product inside and unpack and assemble if nessecarry. If you require in home delivery and/or product installation please a call or send us an e-mail at

Client Obligations:

A signature is required upon delivery as proof of receipt.

It is the client's responsibility to be available during time of delivery. Should a shipment become undeliverable, any additional expenses are the responsibility of the client (including but not limited to: shipment return to sender).

Please inspect both the packing and product upon arrival to avoid any issues with a possible claim. If there is an issue, please make note on the shipping receipt as well as taking pictures of damaged goods. (please see Return Policy)
Alteriors or associated shipper does not move client furniture to make room for delivery of products. No exceptions.

Taxes and Duties:

All applicable taxes (based on client location) for the product will be calculated and applied to the price of the final purchase.

Shipping and Billing Address:

We can only ship your orders to one address. If you require products to go to multiple addresses please purchase the items for each location individually or contact us directly in store for help.

We do not ship to PO Boxes.

Lead times are estimates only and are not considered a contractual agreement to produce the product to the client within the stated time frame. Manufacturers may indicate longer than stated lead times after orders are placed, subject to demand and availability. Alteriors will make every effort to keep you up to date on the status of your order.

Product Packaging:

Product packaging is considered as part of the product purchase. Removal and break down of packaging is not the responsibility of Alteriors or the selected shipper.

Each manufacturer may use different packing methods, please be prepared to dispose of a variety of packing materials (eg: cardboard, Styrofoam, wood crating).

Loss and Damage Due to Shipping:

Alteriors takes the utmost care in ensuring that products are shipped and received intact.

Should the product arrive with any issues, it is the sole responsibility of the client to place a claim with the selected carrier.

Alteriors will supply any relevant paperwork to assist a client with a claim but takes no responsibility for damages and losses due to shipping
